1. Who did you work with and how did you manage the task between you?
I worked in a group of 5 including Jack Kemp, Neil Powis, Ben Davies and Sam Maddison. Well Sam was the main character and we did alot of the filming involving him, Neil was also an actor and played the part of the runner. Myself, Ben and Jack, did the filming and the editing, Ben made the sound track and fitted it to the film piece.
2. How did you plan your short filmed piece? Did you use any other films for your inspiration?
We planned the film in the lesson before filming, we drawn out a story board and decided on the shot we were going to use. We also decided who was doing what roles we were going to play and how we were going to do them.
3. What technology did you use to complete the task, and how did you use it?
We used the Digital Camera which we did all the filming on, we also used the apple macs we used these to do all the editing on. We also used the fire wire so we could burn the work we did on the camera's to the Mac's.
4. What factors did you have to take into account when planning, shooting and editing?
We took into account the lighting and the kind of angles we were going to shoot, we did this because some of the camera angles that you shoot may not give the right impression across to the viewers. We also had to take into the account the safety of one of the actors as he decided it would be a good idea to leap from a flight of stairs.
5. Which film conventions does the piece follow? e.g. music, match on action, 180 degree rule, camera work etc
We created a sound track on garage band and made it to fit our film opening, it is quick and dramatic to help bring tension to the opening, We used the 180 degree rule and did not break this as it causes disorientation as confuses the viewer. We used many shots to capture the main bits of the filming we needed.
6. Which does it break?
We didn't break any of the rules.
7. How did you consider mise en scene? e.g. lighting, camera work, setting, costume, props etc
We considered mise en scene as we didn't want to include anything unnecessary like posters that we didn't need, the lighting was important as we wanted to be able to see the characters so we mainly used natural light for light.The setting we used was around the school as we didn't really have to time to go out of school. The costume used was basically school clothes we made the error of wearing different clothes in the second time of filming but we learn from our mistakes.
8. How did you consider narrative? Is there a sense of a storyline? Can any theorists be applied e.g. Barthes, Todorov, Propp, Levi Strauss
There is a sense of story line as there is a lad chasing another lad because he haws dropped his scissors we did this to try and make it a little bit funny and to show he was only chasing him due to the fact he had dropped them. You can relate it with the equilibrium's as to start with everything was calm then there was some action then it when back to being calm.
9. How successful was your filmed piece? Identify what worked well, and with hindsight, what would you improve/do differently?
I thought the filming went fairly well, we filmed a number of shots and picked out the best ones we needed, we worked well as a team and we shared out the work load out, we also edited the work very well like above we all did our fair share, we also new the shots what we wanted so we knew what we were going to do which was good organisation. The main thing i would improve is to plan out the time we used better we spent to long on little shots when we should be just taking lots of shots and as quick as we can so we can get the editing done quicker.
10. What have you learnt about producing a short piece of film? Looking ahead, how will this learning be significant when completing the rest of your foundation coursework?
I have learnt a fair bit from this short piece what to do and what not to do, i enjoyed working in a group and having different inputs from different members, i think this has done alot for my decision on weather to do film or print, i very much enjoyed working in a group.

Prelinmenary Magazine
The task i got set was to was to create a front cover for a school magazine, the cover had to include a mid shot and 4 pieces of text. I came up with the title as i play football for the school team and decided to us the school initials as the title, which is l.c.f.c. The picture i chose was a of Alex Baraclough, this is because he has a main role in the team. I chose a light red as a background and dark blue for the text as these are the school team colours. I did this because with the blue text it stands out and it is bold.
I worked on my own as i get distracted very easily by other people. This helped me to focus more on the task in hand and get on with my work quickly. The problems i came across was such things as not being able to work well.
